Executive Pastor Job Posting

Broadview Evangelical Free Church, located in Salmon Arm, B.C., seeks an Executive Pastor to join a pastoral team of 7, some who serve vocationally and others serving as volunteers to a growing congregation of nearly 500 people of all ages with a history of strong children’s and youth ministry.

The candidate will be expected to give administrative leadership to the ministry staff and the deacons’ team. The Executive Pastor will be a team player and builder with superior planning and organizational skills and training. Involvement with others and a busy work schedule demands good management of time and human resources. Direction to adult ministry programs requires a mature, relational individual to oversee discipleship and assimilation ministries. A gift of teaching would be highly valued to enable effective direction to the equipping and teaching ministries of the church. Although the Lead Pastor has primary responsibility for the preaching and shepherding ministry within the church body, the Executive Pastor should anticipate providing assistance and support in this area as needed. Participation with the ministry staff team in the overall ministry of the church is also expected. Candidates must be knowledgeable of God’s word, able to communicate clearly and effectively, and meet the criteria found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

Involvement may extend beyond the local church to the Ministerial Association, The Evangelical Free Church of Canada and its Canadian Pacific District, as well as other Christian organizations.
